Investigation reveals violence in Kalaburagi planned, police arrest 167

Karnataka police have arrested 167 people, including 10 women, in connection with joint violence that struck the town of Aland in the Kalaburagi district on Mahashivratri Day. The investigation showed that violence was planned.
The district administration has imposed a banning order until Friday (March 5).
The violence was during the worship of "Ganga Abisheka" (purification of shivling with water from the sacred Ganges) in Maha Shivratri. During the worship, a group suddenly started throwing stones and resorted to violence.
Police are tracking criminals in connection with the case and further arrests may occur. Police have confiscated stones, and piles of sticks from the terrace of the house.
Police are investigating the conspirators behind the violent plot.
